My PB + J

lists.

It’s about that time in this pregnancy when I whip out my handy dandy notepad, my fav felt tipped pen and start jotting down my hospital checklists. Now, this may be common sense especially since I do have a toddler but honestly, I got out of that hospital so damn fast that I don’t remember using anything except for the boppy pillow and my cell phone (I got out after two days for my c-section to see my Grandma). I have revisited what parenting websites say to bring but I don’t even know where to begin. If you remember in one of my posts about ‘lil B we’re looking at staying at the hospital for nearly a week, one for the repeat c-section and two to make sure he is feeding well enough. I know my house isn’t far from the hospital but being my last time I want to make sure I have everything, not that I need my life but I don’t want to be bored or uncomfortable.

So, my dear lovelies what are two items that you brought to the hospital that you had to have, or wish you had?

Here is what parenting.com suggests:

Lip balm
Robe
Slippers
Nightgown/pajamas (button-up ones if you plan to nurse)
Nursing bra, breast pads
Nursing pillow
Underwear (you can also wear the disposable hospital ones)
A pair of socks
Toothbrush
Toothpaste
Soap
Body lotion
Deodorant
Shampoo, conditioner
Hairbrush
Makeup
Glasses, saline solution
iPod or CD player with favorite music
A little money or change for the vending machine
Post-delivery snacks (dried fruit, granola bars, crackers)
Digital camera and/or video camera
Cell phone, phone numbers
Going-home clothes for you
Going-home outfit for baby
Bring later
Favorite pillow
Extra sanitary pads—though the hospital will have lots for you to use
Books or magazines
Pregnancy journal and pen
Notepaper/thank-you cards, address book

The only thing I worried about needing (and forgetting) was my camera. And we almost forgot to take it out of the bag!

Everything else can be picked up later 🙂

An excellent recent post from The Bump about what to bring in your Hospital Bag (in case you forgot anything): http://community.thebump.com/cs/ks/forums/thread/58777286.aspx
