My PB + J

one step at a time is good walking

yep! With that being said our little ten-month-old is a walkin’! She has been testing the waters for a little over a month and randomly last week she decided to let go and made ten steps on her own. I thought it might be a fluke, but she kept doing it and now she just goes. She is practically running at some points which scares the ba-jeebus outta me. Today as we got home from running errands she was sitting by the front door and crawled into the family room and then stood up and ran half-way out our back door. Oy vey! All this mama could do is sit back, remember her baby’s non-mobile days, pray and then shed some tears. It’s astonishing how fast she is growing up. In 46 short days my baby will be one step closer to being a toddler.

The video isn’t amazing, but I wanted to show y’all a little of what she was up to this evening.

pee u it stinks

I hope none of you are offended by the post or that you make an assumption that I am the worst mother out there. Last Thursday my Mom and I were packing everything up to head to Disneyland for the day with Payton. While I was getting the last minute items together in her baby bag I saw that she had crawled into our dining room. I noticed a mini three musketeers wrapper sitting right by the the tile and just assumed that it had fallen the night before. I see Payton sitting right next to our table and it looks as though she is munching on a Tootsie roll. But then she turns to the side and I look and much to my dismay she was chowing down on a dachshund turd. I am dying at this point. Grabbing her screaming and practically gagging as my Mother is laughing at me. I knew it would eventually happen but really?! Did she have to squish it in her hands and then proceed to put it in her mouth?! The weirdest thing is I did not even see that Delilah had an accident in the house. I am going down as the “best” mother in the world I tell you. Anyway, needless to say it was time we took out her toothbrush and scrubbed her seven pearly whites clean of stinky dog poop.

A day at the park

Today, as most watched football, relaxed or enjoyed their ‘Sunday Funday’s’ we finally took advantage of the break in drizzle and headed to the park. I am a lover of cloudy, drizzly days but baby girl really needed to get out of the house to play instead of cruising the mall or Target. We went to our favorite park and enjoyed the 73+ temp’s with Daddy! We swung and went down the slide a few times. Park visits are really starting to get more exciting. Enjoy the pictures because I know I am! She is such a stinkin’ doll!

You can catch a glimpse of four of her six teeth!

Kind of sleepy, but I love her profile. Ugh. I am so in love with this child!

This post will find you reading random thoughts from yours truly. I am sitting on my couch, slightly frozen, with damp hair, burning eyeballs, listening to Desperate Housewives as I catch up on all my nonsense shows from our DVR. I have dinner in the oven and hubby is coaching basketball somewhere at a local gym here in town. I am exhausted. Truly and utterly exhausted! I keep going and going taking on one additional task as the days pass all the while trying to work 60 hours a week and taking care of my ten-month-old. Yes! My sweet baby is ten months today. I don’t have a letter or pictures to share with you just yet but please know they will come soon. She is growing like crazy and it is crazy to think that she was in my tummy for one week shy of ten months and now here she is ten months old. It is amazing how time is flying, life is flying by. I have been obsessing about her birthday for months and have it all pretty much planned out. The theme will be a winter one-derland with snowflakes all around. Red and aqua will be splashed everywhere from her gorgeous plush pettiskirt to red polka-dot balloons. There will be warm drinks, tasty treats, a visit from Santa himself and possibly even some snow. I am so thankful my Sister and Brother-in-law are allowing us to throw her party at their gorgeous new house, even though it is their daughter’s sixth birthday as well. I am blessed to have the family that I do. I don’t think I could make it through the days like today where all I want to do is sleep without the ones closest to me. I have amazing friends that rearrange their schedules to help assist with watching Payton since we cannot afford daycare at this moment. Life is in a whirlwind and I thank you for even reading this post as it a jumble of words. Random thoughts at best.

On another note, which I have not written about in a very long time is my weight loss. I stopped writing because I felt like I was a broken record. I have been working my tail off since May, and gotten comfortable enough where I felt I should not keep writing. I have plateaued so a few of my employees and I are starting the master cleanse diet this Wednesday. I know it will get those few last pounds off, which if you remember I had sixty-five to lose. I am about two inches away from buttoning all my fav jeans which is a huge accomplishment since I could not get them past my knees a few short months ago. I do not obsess about weight-loss. I eat what I feel comfortable eating and I workout usually 3-4 times a week. Taking spin classes has been a god-sent and my dear friend Jinger who has motivated me. I have taken into consideration how each day pans out and if there’s time for the gym I make it. So, long story short I am almost there. I have not weighed myself in months because there is no need to. I will update you all this week my starting weight before this cleanse and we’ll see how it goes.

See, I told you this post was random.

I leave you with one sweet picture of my dear baby.

Costume Update. . .

While I had spent many hours looking for the perfect first Halloween costume for Payton and even had shown you a few they were  not perfect enough for our Princess. Grandma had a better idea than a flower gnome, a peanut or lion and purchased Payton a Minnie Mouse costume from the Disney store. At first, I was a little disappointed, because I did not  pick it out (the control freak in me) and two, I had wanted something funny since she will probably want to be a princess every year from here on out until she’s ten. However, once I saw the cute pink outfit it was so my Payton that I wasn’t upset any longer. Plus, when I showed my niece, Makayla, the gnome costume she just looked at me, cocked her head to one side and with bright eyes said, “Auntie, that’s just weird!” So, Minnie Mouse it is! We just need to purchase her some black tights and a cute pair of pink Mary Jane’s and we’re set.

If your wondering what our fur baby is wearing this is what I found. I am regretting not getting her the hot dog now that P is going to be Minnie. Everytime I think of Minnie or Mickey these day all I hear is, “hot dog, hot dog, hot diggity dog. . .” So rather than a cliche hot dog for her cute dachshund self Delilah is going to be this. . .

Which, I love. Mommy will sadly be missing the Halloween festivities, which saddens me greatly. Though working on holidays is expected with the industry I work in it’s just hard since it’s her first. There is a 1% chance I will be able to swing going in a little later, but it’s slim, slim chance. It’s the end of the month and with that comes inventory.  So, the house that usually gets the ooh’s and ahh’s for being the best on the block will have it’s lights turned off this year. Luckily, there’s always next year and the year after that.

It still is one of my  favorite Holidays besides Thanksgiving. So I would love to know what you are going as and what’s your favorite thing about Halloween?
