My PB + J

Here Comes Santa Claus, Here Comes Santa Claus. . .

Right to scare Payton away. . . Yep! That’s right. My little social butterfly was spooked by the holly jolly Mister himself. I sat her down on his padded knee and the waterworks were a flowin’. I had a feeling this is how it would go this year, so much worse than last year when my little baby girl was four-days new and now here she is eleven days away from being one. After I took her off of Santa’s knee I tried sitting with her and it was still a no-go. I love the picture though. As sad as it is it makes me smile, it’s a funny moment where this iconic figure brought so much fear into this little being yet a few years from now she’ll be asking when he’ll return. So happy I went on a whim today.

After Santa she hugged me so tightly and would not let go, that was until we shopped for baby Uggs and  a pair of Tom’s. We settled for a pair of black Tom’s. Too bad we have to special order them. They were too cute to resist, as were the Uggs but I knew Jim would divorce me for spending that kind of money on a pair of boots for her ever growing feet.
Here she was finally resting after screaming through Macy’s and a quick trip through Bath & Body Works. She fought closing her beautiful blue’s until Elmo in Grouchland was rolling it’s credits. Ahh! Lovin’ the life of an almost toddler.
It was too hard to resist posting last year’s picture once again.

a quack, quack here.

Today I drove up to my parents house in Running Springs to pick-up Payton. My parents had been watching her for a few days which was amazing! On the first day I did not wake until noon. I haven’t done that, in well, eleven months! I decided mid way through my drive that I would pick-up my eldest niece on my way so she could surprise Grandma. We took a short drive over to Lake Arrowhead to feed the ducks and go to the park. I love one-on-one time with my nieces and nephew, plus, watching Payton and Makayla together is such a hoot. They are going to be such great friends!!
Payton kept running up to Makayla giving her hugs, it was so cute! Payton and Makayla 31 days away from their first and sixth birthdays! INSANE!
Laughing at her cousin while swinging.

And then there was Payton who cruised the entire walk to the park. She was mesmerized by the crunching of the leaves and the quacking of the ducks. She was chasing them down! She is walking so well and is picking up herself up now. In the two days she was gone it seems as if she has grown so much. Thirty-one days and my baby will be one. ugh.

Where did my brain go?

I swear my brain has left the building. I just woke-up out of a panic forty minutes ago,  realizing that after I got my hair done last night I totally paid with a check to an account I no longer have. Where the hell did these checks even come from? Was I really that much of a mental wreck yesterday to even notice that for one, my maiden name was on the checks, and two that they are for an account I have not had in three years.  I have to be losing my mind. I was lying there since Payton had woken up for a bottle, she is getting her eighth tooth so her sleeping pattern is off again. I was re-playing yesterday and for some reason writing the check and having a carbon copy stuck out. I jumped out of bed to look in my purse and went into a straight panic. I looked to see what time the salon opens and then wrote my stylist a message on facebook praying that she has not already cashed the bad check. Holy crap. I am so that person. Well, now I am  w i d e  awake, Payton is back up, Jim got up and he’s cleaning our heaters since our house is like forty degrees. So much for sleeping in on Saturday. I guess I will be at the salon right at 9:00 am with my face to the window like the old Mervyn’s commercials, saying, “open, open, open”.

reasons, seasons and lifetimes

People come into your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime.
When you know which one it is,
you will know what to do for that person.

When someone is in your life for a REASON,
it is usually to meet a need you have expressed.
They have come to assist you through a difficulty,
to provide you with guidance and support,
to aid you physically,
emotionally or spiritually.

They may seem like a godsend and they are.
They are there for the reason you need them to be.
Then, without any wrongdoing on your part or at an inconvenient time,
this person will say or do something to bring
the relationship to an end.

Sometimes they die.
Sometimes they walk away.
Sometimes they act up and force you to take a stand.
What we must realize is that our need has been met,
your desire fulfilled, their work is done.
The prayer you sent up has been answered and now it is time to move on.

Some people come into your life for a SEASON,
because your turn has come to share, grow or learn.
They bring you an experience of peace or make you laugh.
They may teach you something you have never done.
They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy.
Believe it, it is real.
But only for a season.

LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons,
things you must build upon in order to have a solid emotional foundation.
Your job is to accept the lesson, love the person and put what you have learned
to use in all other relationships and areas of your life.
It is said that love is blind but friendship is clairvoyant.

Thank you for being a part of my life, whether you were a reason, a season or a lifetime

birthday invite sneak peak!

I am obsessed with planning Payton’s birthday party. I feel sorry for my Mother and Jim because all I do is talk about is her special day. I know she will not remember it but I will. My theory behind my madness is that I did not hear her come into this crazy world. I will never get back those moments so for each day this year I have tried my best to make each day count and her 365th will not be any different. Since we are forty-three days out I thought I would share her invitation that I am so proud of. I have only made one complete invitation but Jim is planning on stamping and glittering the snowflakes on the rest while I am at work this evening. I love the colors and am eagerly awaiting the end of this month so I can break out all my Christmas decorations. LOVE IT!
all DIY, paper products are from paper source, snowflake stamp & ink from impression rubber stamps

I have also ordered all her custom decorations from etsy as well as her cookie favors, which are mini snow babies, stockings and circles all complete in red, aqua and white. I have her red polka-dot snowflake onesie to go with her plush aqua pettiskirt. My baby girl will have the best Winter Onederland party yet!
