Bubble Necklace Giveaway – Blue Bird Bride

I love statement costume jewelry and when it’s colorful it can turn a plain ensemble into something much more. Since having the kids I rarely wear anything more than my diamond earrings and Tiffany’s necklace but when I head out for a date night or for happy hour with the girls I like to dress things up a bit. I have been eyeing the ever so popular bubble necklaces for quite some time now. When I was introduced to Blue Bird Bride accessories I knew that I needed to add a few necklaces to my jewelry armoire.

chicken apple sausage gourmet pizza {hillshire farms sponsored post & giveaway}

My family loves Hillshire Farm products. I remember as a child my Dad making kielbasa with onions and barbeque sauce. I loved that dish so creating my own dishes using Hillshire Farm quality meat products for my family brings back so many memories while creating new ones.

While at BlogHer my first booth visit on the expo floor was to the Hillshire Farm booth. I quickly realized that I was able to create my own dish with their new gourmet creations fully cooked sausage. I can still taste that dish and have been dreaming about what I could make using the chicken apple with gouda sausage. I thought and thought and finally came up with a gourmet pizza using the chicken apple with gouda sausage as the star ingredient. The pizza was probably the best pizza I have ever tasted in terms of flavor combinations. Here’s what I did:

Start off with Hillshire Farm Gourmet Creations Chicken Apple with Gouda smoked sausage.
Ingredients – walnuts, granny smith apple, caramelized red onion and sliced dates (not pictured)

Slice the sausage and cook according to package directions.

Your going to need pizza dough. Whether you make it or buy it, it’s up to you. I got mine from my old employer and fav pizza place. You can go to any pizza place and ask them to purchase a ball of dough, avoid chain pizza places because they will not. My dough gave me enough to make two mediums and one mini.

Roll your dough out – make sure to let your dough rest before rolling out. Otherwise you might not get anywhere and you’ll be playing a fun tug-of-war game with the dough.
Next, take a fork and poke holes all over the dough except for the crust area. This pizza is essentially sauce-less so drizzle some EVOO on the crust and spread it around.
You have to have cheese for pizza, how much you use is up to you. I used mozzarella as the base and dollops of ricotta on the top.

After you have the oil spread around, sprinkle the cheese. Have your kids help with this, it makes it more fun and they feel like they are helping. Next layer. the cooked sausage.

Once you have the base done add the remaining ingredients: caramelized onions, sliced apples, walnuts, dates and then creamy morsels of ricotta goodness. Bake at 450º for about 20 minutes or until golden and bubbly.
voila! An amazing gourmet pizza in the comforts of your own home!

stick with it {product review & giveaway}

While grabbing my daily dose of caffeine one morning at my local Coffee Bean I met the wonderfully sweet owner and designer, Monetta, of Stick With It cosmetic palette. Stick With It is relatively new to the market and honestly it’s unique in terms of the other free form cosmetic palettes on the market. You see, this palette unlike any other palette has a sticky surface so all you have to do it un-pot your current cosmetic, set it and go! No magnets needed! Your make-up is tightly secured throughout transit and depending on the trip, the outfit or occasion you can design a customized palette and re-design it to go with you.
When you first open your Stick With It palette you will notice the thin velum type paper. This paper acts as a separator so when you close your filled palette the colors don’t mix. If powder becomes loose you can simply take a damp cloth or towel with rubbing alcohol to clean the surface, once the surface dries it becomes sticky again, never losing the original sticky surface! How genius is this?
The palette truly does fit a lot! I didn’t de-pot my eyeshadows because I did not want to crack them, however, MAC, and other cosmetic brands do sell their products for palettes. I do love how easy it was to pop my eyeshadows out of the original packaging and how easily they stuck to the surface. Even though they are not fully de-potted the 7″ x 3.5″ palette fit everything pictured above.
After about a month of use you can see some dust build-up around the edges. I did take a cotton swab to the surface with some make-up remover, rubbing alcohol and water and it would not come off. One of the only things that I would change about the product is that it could be slightly deeper. Regardless, this palette has made my mornings so much faster having my favorite eyeshadows already organized versus lying in bag getting jumbled as I look through the fading font to find the right shade.

Stick With It is an essential accessory to add to your cosmetic routine. The companies mantra and daily reminder, “you only get out of life what you put into it, so Stick With It!” was a dream of the retired US Navy Veteran. I don’t know about you, but for me seeing this reminder each day surely helps me stick to my goals and dreams as I am getting ready to tackle my busy day.
The palette is retailing for $28 on www.stickwithitpalette.com and is beginning to be distributed worldwide. Support a dream!

My PB+J is a Nuby Mommy Blogger {new partnership}

I am more than happy to announce that MY PB+J was chosen as a Nuby Mommy Blogger! This is an exciting partnership and I cannot wait to share their amazing products with my readers. We have used Nuby since Payton was a baby and I am in love with the products we have already received.
We will be testing out the Ol’ McDonald plush characters, iMonster fork and spoon, the two handle no spill cup and purICE teether. Upon opening the box I was so thrilled because the Ol’ McDonald plush chicken was so soft and the colors were so vibrant! Payton immediately wanted everything for herself, especially when I tried explaining how they were for her little brother as he begins to transition into big boy eating and drinking. She quickly let up and wanted to use the iMonster fork and spoon with dinner. She kept laughing at the silly monsters and it truly made her meal a lot more fun!

I have something extra special to share with one lucky My PB+J reader! I will be giving away one Grip  N’ Sip handle cup! This cup is great for transitioning baby from the bottle to a sippy, no spills and it’s easy for them hold.

cell phone mishap {$40 itunes or amazon.com gift card giveaway}

asurion, applications for mobile, mobile application, mobile applications, mobile app, mobile apps, phone app, phone apps, malware, spyware, security app, security apps, secure browsing, safe browsing, phone locator, find my phone, locate phone, lock phon

i have issues with cell phones. last year alone i went through four different EVO’s. i would love to blame these mishaps on the product versus the user but i cannot. my old boss used to laugh at me because more than once i went into work with my screen smashed, shards of glass flaking off and still very determined to text and e-mail away. i am slightly addicted to my social networking best friend, but who isn’t these days?  half way through my shift i applied some clear packing tape because i had those shards sticking into my fingertips. you might be asking, well, how did you break it? or, how did you manage to break four different phones in one year?  by dropping them of course. here’s the thing, my phone captures my growing children, i probably snap at least fifty images a day. so when i see something cute happening i whip my phone out of my back pocket and start clicking away. the first phone tragedy was my attempt to video payton on her power wheels truck. i barely bent over, my hand less than twelve inches off the ground and smash! i literally cried. the second one fell out of the baby bag while attempting to juggle both children in the doctor’s parking lot, a lot of swearing and my dear daughter saying, “oh no! daddy’s gonna be mad…” my list goes on. i consider my klutzy self lucky because my phone carrier provides insurance through Asurion.

Content and/or other value provided by our partner, Asurion.

even though i have issues with breaking phones i rest a little easier knowing my phone is covered by Asurion and I only have to pay a minimal fee to receive a replacement phone. the process is super easy: pick-up the phone, let them know your phone has been lost/damaged/stolen, they collect some info, the deductible is added to your next bill and your new phone arrives within a few business days, sometimes even the next business day depending on the day of the week. can you tell i have been through this a few times?

a few months ago i upgraded to an iphone. you better believe that before i walked out the door i had an otter box and protective screen on the phone and insurance in place. the sales rep even made a joke that i better not fall or do anything silly. while i might be a little more careful with my iphone i still have little ones that love to get their hands on the device and when we’re out in public it helps them settle down. Asurion estimates that nearly 60,000,000 people in north america will lose, damage or have their phone stolen this year. if you’re not covered with phone insurance you could be paying nearly $700 to replace a broken iphone 4s. the choice is pretty clear to me, protect your phones and your memories.

visit: Asurion.com for additional information.

have you had a mobile device mishap? or, are you a lucky one? either way, i have the perfect giveaway for you!
