My PB + J

my family of four {newborn session}

This past Friday my dear friend, Tessa, of Grin & Share It Photography took our sweet little Brayden’s newborn photos. I have to admit that we almost didn’t take photos due to me being a negative nancy and  our financial situation. But, as usual the stars always align and we soon found ourselves sitting in her backyard studio being captured as a family of four. I know I always say it, but if you’re in the San Diego area or plan on coming here for vacation you need to book a session with her. I have worked with plenty of photographers over the years and she is the most professional, fun and engages herself so well with children to capture the best photos. I am so smitten with the photos she posted yesterday that looking at them brings tears to my eyes. I cannot thank Tessa enough for capturing our growing family yet once again.

I had the vision of this hat the entire pregnancy. My Mom whipped it up for me the night we came home from the hospital and it couldn’t be any cuter! We will be adding these gnome hats to our etsy store in 2012!

I purchased this gnome hat, another vision I had looked for and finally found from birdy bird boutique. She has really beautiful pieces and does auctions on her FB page if you’re looking for a great holiday gift, photo prop or shower gift. Venture on over to check out her amazing work, it’s not only quality handmade pieces but she shipped out my hat quicker than I had imagined which was great seeing as though Brayden arrived three weeks early!
This photograph melts my heart and swells my eyes with happy tears. This is why we have children folks.

My family is complete.

proud big sister!

Family L-O-V-E

A few weeks ago my sister, her precious children, Payton and I met my dear friend Tessa down in Presidio Park to take photographs for our Mother. Our original plan was to surprise our parents with these pictures when they arrived home from their trip back east as a late Mother’s Day present but we couldn’t wait to share them! Tessa truly captured our little ones and brought a great deal of happiness to all the grandparents. I am sorry for the picture overload but Tessa is amazing, not to mention she had beautiful subjects! he he. To see her work or to have her capture your loved one head on over to: Grin and Share It Photo.

Isn’t she a ham?

I love this one of my sister and my beautiful nieces and nephew.

Family Photo Shoot

Back in November my family and I took our family portraits at Bear Park off the 52 freeway in San Diego. Like I mentioned in our last post, Carolynn Helton of Sun Diego Photography did our shoot. I cannot brag about her any more than I already do! If you know anyone that is getting married and is in need of a fabulous, yet extremely reasonable photographer please contact her. She will not disappoint! This shoot was fun because we were all together and when you get the entire Barr family together there is never a dull moment. I love these pictures and they made the best Christmas presents. I hate to brag, but we are one damn good looking family!

Where does the time go?

Amanda Osborne and I were inseparable for our beginning years at good ‘ole MVHS. We shared the awkward days obsessing over older boys, passing our secret book back and forth, crying together when Princess Diana passed, chicken sandwiches and Dr. Pepper for lunch, glow in the dark, “Afternoon Delight” and the phrase, “Oh my god! Look it’s Sean”. This one of kind friend and I went our separate ways, for reasons now I can’t even remember. I think it’s amazing that as time passes we forget the times we spent together and long to be younger again. Amanda and I have remained friends since we graduated eight-and-a-half years ago and two weeks ago she married the love of her life. The last time I saw Amanda was on our wedding day sixteen months ago, and being a part of her day was amazing. I couldn’t help but cry and think about the days that once were spent driving up and down Cal Oaks in my ’88 Integra. I am writing this as a memory and to the future of a friendship of a lifetime.

Jim’s Birthday / Charger’s Game

Last week we celebrated Jim’s and my Father’s birthdays by having an intimate “dude ranch” themed party at our house. My father-in-law and mother-in-law were also in town from New Jersey so it was a great get together for our family and friends. The highlight of our weekend long celebration was attending Monday night football. As many of you know, Jim and I are die hard football fans and spending the day before his actual birthday with my parents and Al and Kathy at the game was literally the icing on the cake. This game came with a much needed win from the Chargers over the NY Jets. I must admit that it was fantastic to see Brett Favre, I have been very fortunate to attend the games with some of my favorite QB’s. I cannot wait for preseason ’09 when I make the trip to watch my newly adopted team, the Dallas Cowboys at training camp. I can only hope that HBO’s “Hardknocks” picks the Chargers for next year’s season. On Jim’s actual birthday, September 23rd, we both had to work during the day but in the evening I took him downtown and we walked the streets and had a nice intimate dinner. It was nice to finally spend some alone time with Jim relaxing and remembering the past eight years of birthdays that we have been spent together. We are both looking forward to the big 3-0 next September and all of the festivities that will come along with this milestone age.
My Momma and I at her first Charger’s Game!
