My PB + J

A day by the bay!

On a whim this morning Jim and I decided to take Payton to Seaworld. We had been discussing it for a while now, but I very seldom have a weekend day off so this morning after Payton and my morning nap we headed to Seaworld. It was gorgeous at our house and literally right as we got onto the 52 freeway the gorgeous blue sky turned into a cloudy, grey chilly afternoon. When we got to the park, I was already freezing but as luck would have it I had a coat in the back of my SUV, thank God! We headed straight into the park to see Elmo and his best buddy, Zoe. Payton was dying with excitement, it really got our afternoon off to a great start. After Elmo we went over to the kiddie play “tide pool” where she got to play and interact with all of the other mini-humans. We really couldn’t get enough of her reactions, I wish I would have brought the video camera because this kid inherited her genuine reactions from her Aunt Kathy. It truly is hysterical! She loved the Shark Encounter, and as we walked through the exhibit she exclaimed, “fish!” Another first word. I also forgot to mention that as we were leaving our house this morning Payton had started to walkout onto our patio and I said to her, “Payton, it’s time to go bye-bye, follow mama to the car” she literally looked at me and said, “bye” and walked out the backdoor. ahhh! These are the moments. Our day at Seaworld was amazing and it was so nice to finally spend a day with my lovies. After our stay at the park we picked up our friends, Geoff and Jinger and headed into OB to eat at yummy Pizza Port. It was like going back six years reliving my Sunday funday days after work at Friday’s we would head to the Port. Overall, such a great weekend and I am thankful I am off tomorrow as well. We have a mini photo shoot that my dear friend, Tessa, of Grin & Share It Photo, is taking pictures of our daughter’s for my Evi Luna Boutique. I have been working all evening on some stunning new clips. I cannot wait to see how it comes out tomorrow!
I hope everyone had a great weekend as well.
Photo overload begins…
Her first sight of Elmo. I think her legs were running in her daddy’s arms to get to him.

I may have gotten the first Mickey picture but Daddy got her real loves first picture, Elmo!

In the tide pool she kept running over to the Elmo sign and waving to him. It was pretty funny!

The Sea Lions, she kept calling them “dadgy” or doggie. It’s probably because their barks sound like the dog across the street from us.

She couldn’t get enough of the lions, it was so sweet!

In the Penguin Encounter. I love this photo, it melts my heart!

Laughing at the Walrus who had swam by, looked right at her through the glass and then swam over and plopped right down. She thought it was the funniest thing.
The Beluga Interaction Program was my favorite, I love these whales! There is just something about them that is mesmerizing. Payton could not get enough of them, we probably stayed here the longest because the three whales that were in there kept swimming right by.

Our last stop was at the Sting Ray pool. I am glad we ventured over there because they will be closing this area for two years as they remodel. They will be moving the sting rays over to Atlantis but you will no longer be able to touch or feed them. Payton got to play in the water as many swam by and brushed her hand. It was so cool. I am so ecstatic about our visit because I have not been to Seaworld since fourth grade, pretty damn sad considering I worked ten minutes from there for three years and it literally takes us twenty minutes. So happy we have rest of the year to play!

A facelift has been made.

So forever ago, well, maybe like four months ago I got a little birdie in my ear telling me that I needed to  zush up Payton’s room for her upcoming first birthday. Of course, being the activator that I am, I went out right away to Lowe’s and picked up the paint that matched her bedding perfectly. I coerced my Dad to come down and help with the paint and chair rail and voila! We had a happier, brighter room for our soon-to-be toddler. I have always loved her bedding, and as many of you might remember I had my eye on it when I was barely seven-weeks preggo with my little love. I also had an old friend, Danielle, decoupage some new letters since I had to forego my “Payton” vinyl decal that I loved so much. The room really is a happier place, not only for me but for Payton. It is such a big girl room, I keep imagining it with a bed instead of crib and without the changing table. When she does eventually move into a bed we will have to find bedding that matches the “jalapeno jelly” and “butter yellow” paint, maybe she will get something with pink, but then again, my girl is not a pink kind of girl.

Here are a few pics of before and after.

Before –
A few weeks before her arrival
After –
One week after her first birthday

I added some vinyl damask bird decals I found at Home Goods on the wall to the left. Payton loves birds and when she saw them there on that first morning she was so ecstatic, saying, “bird, bird, birdie, ma-ma, bird!”. ahhh! It melts my heart I tell you.

When I was around 7 months preggo I decided one day I would paint a tree, I am not a painter, and was never really in love with this tree, but it meant something. It killed me watching my Dad roll over it with paint.

After –
The picture of Payton at 5.5 months was always on that wall, but in January I found some gorgeous hand cut prints from Elsita on Etsy and bought three for her room, one of which I gave away as a gift and a larger 8×10 for our room.
Other room details:

The wall above her changing table. Her footprint at one-month-old and her 5 month picture along with her cousins.

The letters Danielle Hankins made me with a three day notice. Love this girl.

Her bows, if you can actually believe it, I have about 10-15 that are floating around between the car, handbags and kitchen counter that are missing. It’s a sick obsession, luckily, I am making them now!

The wall by her closet, I want this to be a “watch me grow” wall, but I can’t figure out what to do since the chair rail is in the way.
This side table, is actually my Grandmother’s and the reason why I cannot get rid of it. It actually houses her sewing machine, it’s pretty cool, doesn’t match but it was Grandma’s. Danielle made the cube and Grandma Toni sent the Mickey. Of course we had to have the matching Crane humdifier when she caught her cold.
and last but not least all of her headbands. I told you I have a problem! Payton does a have a Vizio Television from Aunt Kathy and Uncle Al which sits to the right of these headbands.
Well, nothing special but it has been a post I have had saved as a draft for a while now.

a mad tea party

Two weeks ago my Mom and I took Payton, my nieces and nephew to Disneyland. My nieces and nephew had been staying with my parents while my Sister was recovering from her recent hysterectomy, so we thought it would be an extra special treat to take them since they were already ditching school. It was super crowded, well, for our standards anyway. We took Payton on the teacups for the first time and she was hysterically laughing the entire time! My nephew, Ethan, didn’t go light on the spinning, which made my stomach a little queasy! I never used to experience motion sickness but lately even some minor spinning in our living room catches me off guard and paralyzes me until I can kick it. yucky! We also hit up It’s a Small World, we had to totally twist their arms to actually let us go on, we kept pulling the “Payton has never been on here” even though my Mom and I just wanted a break. Payton loved all the singing and lights. She would start clapping and say, “‘dis” while pointing at something new. She is such a stinkin’ doll. ugh, this girl I tell you. Anyway, hope everyone has had a great start to their week. I will play catch up on my days off this week!
The love of my life!

One of my fav hair clips, lost after small world. boo!

Ethan totally putting some umph into it!

My Momma and the girlie’s, Makayla is totally trying to make them spin fast. I couldn’t even tell you if they were seeing as I was concentrating on not blowing chunks all over my nephew. ha!

Loving her surroundings

She hated:
Buzz Lightyear: She actually cried the entire time. I laughed at her. Empathetic Mama? Nope!
The Carousel: Loved it when she got on by herself, all big girl like, but once we started spinning she wanted to be in my arms.
