My PB + J

a trip to bates nut farm

Yesterday morning my dear friend Tessa and I headed out to Bates Nut Farm in Valley Center with our strong minded toddlers. Neither of us had been out there but assumed it wasn’t too far from the I-15. I had about a twenty minute lead on her so when I called her to tell her how far out in BFE it was we both just laughed. I am just thankful that I decided to fill my tank from the quarter that was in there because when the GPS told me 43 minutes from Poway road I got a little worried on top of the rain that was pouring from the sky. Once we arrived at the farm, which we were totally blessed with ideal weather, a cool damp Fall 54 degree morning after a good rain, the girls ran straight to the mounds of pumpkins. They were in heaven! Payton kept yelling at Genevieve, “GG come on” as they ran from mound to mound or as they navigated their way through the soft sandy Big Mac’s field. The girls also rode the ponies twice, only after a meltdown on both their parts that their so mean mother’s tore them away from. We also took the hayride while they snacked and while Tessa recuperated from hauling them both around in the wheelbarrow. We made it to the petting zoo where Payton thought she would be able to pick-up a duck or even at one point the goose that was flocking its wings at her. They ran some more through the enormous fields and then we headed over to pick-up some gorgeous gourds to add to our Fall displays. All-in-all it was a great morning and despite the longer than anticipated drive it was so worth seeing the girls so excited over the surroundings. If you live in the area you must take your little sprout to Bates Nut Farm, they open everyday at 9 and I recommend getting there early because the school buses start filling up the parking lot and fields! Thanks again Tessa for a great morning and all of the beautiful shots you captured of our girls! xoxo

My fav shot of the day, so blessed that T caught this. It may get a cutesy Fall frame that comes out every year.
Our pumpkins not sure about where we placed them.

Eden Fantasys {a giveaway}

Sex toys - EdenFantasys adult toys store
Have you heard of eden fantasys? I hadn’t either until I attended the BlogHer convention back in August when all the women I came into contact with were asking if I had visited their booth at the expo hall yet. Eden Fantasys is your one-stop shop for adding that extra spark into the bedroom! The neat thing about Eden Fantasys is that they offer more than your average adult toy store, they are an online sex community. Now some of you might be raising an eyebrow but the online communities are great and very unexpected! While I was perusing the site to see what they had to offer I stumbled upon the Costumes, which are reasonably priced, offered in sizes small to plus size and perfect for this time of year if your looking for that perfect Halloween costume or if your a bride-to-be you could find an amazing boudoir shoot ensemble! I know when I was planning my boudoir shoot I was looking at outfits that were going to cost me over $100 but with Eden Fantasys they offer amazing outfits all for under $50! A few of my favorites:

Flapper $47.99
Ship Ahoy $29.99
Racy Red Riding Hood  $44.99
If you are already an Eden Fan you need to head on over because they are having a huge Fall sale where you can receive up to 70% off! They also offer a free gift with every concealed order!
One lucky Chronicles of My Sweet P reader will win a $30 gift card to EdenFantasys.com

35 weeks {an update}

This morning we headed down to the hospital for my 35-week checkup with Dr. Pacquadio. As she started up the ultrasound we quickly noticed Mr. Brayden had his arm in front of his face yet again. He has pretty much been in this position every time we have seen him which is pretty funny. I like to think he is already trying to cover up his lip and he isn’t even out of the womb yet! The other thing we noticed when I laid down was that he has dropped and she confirmed this with the ultrasound. His head is already descending which doesn’t really matter in the grand scheme of things but it’s reassuring that nature is taking it’s course. We couldn’t get a good look at the cleft side of his face because it was buried deep into my pelvis but we did get to see the left side of the face which showed us that he has chubby cheeks and a cute button nose like his sister. She also pointed out that he has quite a bit of hair on his head so we all instantly commented that he is going to take on Jim’s coloring. She also thought it was interesting how fair Payton came out gaining both sets of our recessive genes. But we shall see what we get in a few short weeks! Towards the end of the visit I ask her about what we had talked about at our last meeting in regards to changing the birth date from the second to the first and she gave me a huge, “no problem!” She must have been in a better mood today! So for now we have an amnio and pre-op scheduled on Halloween at 8:30 am and then my c-section is scheduled for 12:30 on the first. The c-section was an add-on appointment so it is very likely that if someone who was scheduled that morning goes into labor early that I would be placed into that slot. The downside to all of this is that if they have someone who needs an emergency c-section that I would get completely bumped from the first and given whatever day/time was available next. Fingers crossed! But now that I have my date scheduled he will come early even though the doc thinks I will make it. I sure hope she’s right! I have an appointment with my midwife on Friday so we will see what she has to say!!
Some other things she noted today:
* measuring 6.6 pounds, this is obviously a guesstimate but she is thinking we will have another eight pounder like Miss P.
* body measurements are measuring two weeks ahead of 35 weeks, this isn’t anything new. I think his left femur measured in at 37 weeks 3 days. Can we say long legs?
* Kidney’s are still okay and even so we jumped that major hurdle.
The pictures are all of his squished face in my pelvis but you can clearly see his chubby cheeks, perfect nose and his arm going across his face. He looks like he is all balled up keeping himself warm or something. Unlike his feet which were trying to escape through my upper stomach. 🙂

Hi Everybody! I will see you all in 28 days!

and we showered my little peanut

Over the weekend my Mom and Sister threw me a shower in honor of our little peanut. It was so perfect and I feel ever so grateful to have these women in my life. To be honest I was really emotional, driving to the shower it finally hit me that in one month our dear baby B will be here. Seeing my oldest friends, their children and talking about life then and now just made me appreciate everything that life is throwing at me. I have a great support group and I am blessed to have every single one of them in my life. After the shower as I drove home I shed a few more tears, and later that evening when we tried going out to dinner with my parents and close family friends P was acting up and I just bawled when we got to the car. The pregnancy hormones have finally gone into full effect and my emotions are running high. This shower really helped me and I am truly grateful for those who attended because for how badly I did not want a shower it was nice seeing those who are supporting me. I know I might sound like a broken record but there are days where I feel alone so knowing and seeing that I do have a great support group is reassuring. So thank you ladies.

The fab women who attended, minus a few that were in the kitchen chit chatting.
