monday phone dump {link-up party}

sorry i have been a wee bit absent. my in-laws arrived as i hit publish on my post last monday and we hit the road running for the past week. it has been an amazing week, with great food, family and a lot of fun. on top of them being here we closed escrow last wednesday and have been going back and forth on moving stuff and figuring out what has to be done to our house to get it on the market this week. here’s a lot of pictures and not nearly as many as i have taken!

we had our first floater in the pool, a gopher. we went to san diego’s best mexican restaurant, casa de pico, on cinco de mayo. while cleaning out the garage we found that old picture of jim and i, circa 2001. i also fit in a cupcake order sunday morning.

friday night we went to pechanga for my brother-in-law’s birthday. i had a patron shot and a few margies. thursday we went to legoland and brayden got his first hat.

monday i got my hair done and my stylist gave me a present for doing her wedding cupcakes this upcoming weekend. we also found two lost treasures: our marriage cert and a spa finder gc. oh, and the best flan over consumed. ever.

payton riding her bike, she will finally have a place to ride it at the new house. playing in her house with grandmom and tony “cheeseburger…french fry….APPLE PIE!” was said all week long. our new kitchen. my chubba-wubba cheeky boy and jim greeting al from our back gate.

amazing week. now, i need time to decompress, but i cannot since there’s cupcakes, moving, cleaning and life to be done. le sigh.

update on #1

i haven’t written about child numero uno in a long time, don’t worry, she’s still here and as sassy as can be. this girl definitely knows what she wants when it comes to anything in her daily routine. she’s picks out her outfits, picks out a matching bow and puts on her shoes. her new thing at nap time is putting on jammies, she has to pick them out, if she does not approve she throws a fit. she wakes up playing peek-a-boo, gives a big “good morninnnnng, mommy and buddy” gives us kisses and moves on to mickey mouse clubhouse with her chocolate milk in hand. yes, she has to have chocolate milk, if you give her plain milk, we get a “no want it” as she walks to the refrigerator opens the door and hands you the hershey’s syrup and says, “i sqeeeze it”. a little drizzle and our morning is off onto the right foot. she’s still loving her pancakes and waffles for breakfast, occasionally dry shredded wheat, weird i know, or eggies with cheese. when it comes to food she still loves everything, especially the veggies. if you ask her what she wants for lunch she will usually reply, mac ‘n cheese, “chicken fil-a”(chick-fil-a), “cheeseburgur” or a chicken roll aka turkey and cheese roll-up. she loves playing with her brother, playing her “ahhh-dude” and peek-a-boo games. she asks to see gigi, tessa, janelle and charlie on a daily basis, saying how she loves them and that they’re her best friends. she also goes on and on about how she loves her cousins and wants to go to school with ethan and makayla. at bedtime she has a whole routine to avoid closing her eyes. she gets her bath, she watches an episode of strawberry shortcake or my little pony, milk in hand and then they whiny games start. “mommy. i got eyelash” then rubbing her nose, “need an issue (tissue) mommy”. after all the games she finally falls asleep and our day is over. there is so much that goes on with her everyday to where i wish i could just bottle her up and record everything she says because half of the time she gets me going with her humor and sayings.

* “mommy, where is my pink jellies?” at home baby girl. “oh no…my toes are sad [insert pout and cheesy grin]”

* watching paula deen she says, “is that grandma?”

* “no shoosh me mommy, i shoosh you”

* “no take-a picture of me! stoooopppp mommmmyyyyy!”

* walking into victoria’s secret she exclaims, “mommy! are those boobies?!”then laughs hysterically.

* walking into our room she lifts up her shirt and asks, “mommy, do you love my boobies?”see a trend here?

* “is that you?” is said after she toots and burps every single time.

and when she really doesn’t want me to take a picture she does this. payton, i hope when you’re a teenager you get embarrassed by this. i love you peanut butter pie.

what i wore {wedding edition}

our five year anniversary is two months from today and i thought i’d reminisce along with absolute mommy today as she celebrates her seventh wedding anniversary, congrats! our wedding day was magical, except for the outrageous heat, our officiant being an hour late and our florist botching a good amount of our flowers but once we got passed all that it was everything we hoped for. we got married at mt. woodson golf club on june 30, 2007. every element was carefully planned and designed by yours truly. i wanted a gown that was made for a princess and i got it. the train was out of control long, but unique because it was scalloped, once bustled (which was so heavy) it was even more gorgeous. i was lucky enough to wear my dress three times: wedding and two trash the dress sessions. my pre-wedding wear consisted of a victoria’s secret wedding day hoodie and sweats pant while my make-up was done by chloé from MAC. my wedding dress was by jasmine bridal purchased at jinny’s bridal, my shoes stuart weitzman and jewelry was from nordstrom. my seven bridesmaids wore espresso brown alfred angelo a-line gowns with custom sashes made by my friends mom. it’s crazy how five years have (almost) come and gone and how it feels like yesterday when i married my best friend. p.s. who is that girl pictured below? holy get back on the program melissa!

busy weekend as usual. the dailey method started my weekend mornings off, some park time, an adorable polka dots & cupcakes first birthday party order, cleaning (and some more cleaning) and watching baby brianna for the first time. my mother-in-law arrives tonight and at 2 pm we close escrow. a lot of exciting things will be happening this week. especially since my mother-in-law hasn’t been out from new jersey since april of 2010. cannot wait to spend time with her, tony and jim since he’s taking the whole week off. make it a great week people!
