My PB + J

Monday Phone Dump {link-up parties}

This past week I have been recovering from BlogHer and the humid, east coast weather that followed me home. It has so been so darn humid, I can totally deal with the dry heat but adding in the humidity makes me hide indoors all day. Yesterday it hit 100 degrees at our house paired with 70% humidity so we attempted San Diego’s Seaport Village to enjoy cool breezes. We were sadly greeted with 94 degrees and a slap in your face warm sticky breeze. Everyone had a meltdown and soon we were back into our air conditioner. I guess Summer has officially arrived! 😉

 i am linking up with what makes savanah smile and a night owl blog.
make sure to follow me via instagram, I am a total over sharer.

While I was in NYC our little girl became a confident swimmer. She no longer hovers over the stairs, this girl is going to the deep end by doggy paddling, jumping, splashing and climbing onto pool toys.
I also came home to Brayden’s head shaved. I wasn’t too happy but looking at him now just makes me smile and um, hello? Total ladies man already. Both kids have been dealing with a cough so we took advantage of Jamba Juice’s happy hour and when the line was too long on Friday she got a special treat from Coffee Bean. Friday evening I dealt with the heat and knocked out all the baking for my wedding order.

While in Seaport Village we watched the pirate ship cruise by, the kites flying high and two hilarious non-mom inspired poses. She cracks me up. Look at her pose! We’re so in trouble.

When she made this pose I felt like a pageant mom. Like, seriously, what have I done to my child? The funny thing was she was swaying her hips back and forth and then the hand!? Oh goodness.

Nuby Ol’McDonald Singing Plush Toy {Review}

One of the amazing perks of being a Nuby Mommy Blogger is that my family gets to review amazing Nuby products! Over the next few months I will be sharing these products with you. For my first review I would like to introduce you to the Ol’McDonald Singing Plush Toy collection.

 Let me just tell you that when our package arrived the kids could not wait to play with the chicken. The music is unlike any other singing children’s toy due to the clarity of the song, it seriously sounds amazing. The vibrant, soft chicken brings a smile to both of my children and has us singing along as we run errands or while we’re playing at home.
We run a lot of errands and honestly this toy is one I make sure I bring along in the car. If the baby starts to get whiny all I do is give the chicken a little hug and he forgets about why he was crying and starts dancing. Payton loves it as well because it has taught her a new song and she requests the “moo-moo” song all.the.time!

I recently brought it on a play date in the park and all the children wanted to play with it. It was one of those moments where each kid wanted to take the chicken home and I wish they all could! This toy is definitely on the top of my list for parents-to-be or for a first birthday despite that it’s recommended for three months and up. I can safely tell you that my 2.5 year-old loves it just as much as my almost ten month-old.
Here is a video of Brayden while we were shopping at Costco. He was getting restless and the familiar children’s song turned it all around.
The Ol’McDonald singing plush toys make a great gift and I know I will purchasing the other farm animals from the collection. If you wish to purchase one, you can find them at BuyBabyDirect.com for just $8.99!

the BlogHer breakdown

I left BlogHer’12 a lot differently than last year. I was pumped when I left San Diego, I felt on top of the world, I had met so many great women and the sessions inspired me. This year was just different, I knew a little more heading into the conference and watching the swag hungry women left a sour taste in my mouth. I did get to meet many of my bloggy buddies in real life, weird to some but amazing to a faithful follower.  Kelly from live.laugh.rowe. and I were waving to one another after the first five minutes of me being there as I got off the elevator and she heading up, this created an excited tone and anticipation for what was to come. The sessions were way too packed, like a claustrophobs worst nightmare. I only had three sessions marked on my calender and I left them early. Lunchtime was a mess, but the amazing speakers left me unable to eat anyhow. . .um, hello? President Obama, Martha Stewart and Katie Couric can leave one inspired, in awe and fully unable to concentrate on anything other than what they were speaking about.  I made connections with some great brands, that was when they were willing to speak with me. You have to expect that being in New York you will encounter rude people but when they are supposed to be selling a brand one might think they wouldn’t ignore you for minutes at a time while blankly staring at the product sitting on a table. The parties were great, Hasbro seriously knows how to throw a party, toasting to a My Little Pony wedding as we entered was amazing. Wow, as if that all just sounded bad? It was a great trip, I just think BlogHer needs to work on a few things after this year, the venue just needs to be able to accommodate the roughly 5,000 bloggers that were in attendance.

(JANELLE, NATALIE, ME, TESSA, DANIELLE, AMANDA)

I had a great time with my girlfriends, remember, this conference was an excuse for a girls trip! We had many memorable meals, fun at the parties, tears shed in the ballroom, strolls in the park, forty blocks of constant change, a near death cab experience (hold on lady!), a quattro formaggi Neapolitan pizza served by Lady Gaga’s doppelgänger at Pizza Arte, sweet peach sangria and tapas and many, many other stories to be shared.

I originally wanted to post the good, the bad & the ugly but I figured I’d just share my entire Facebook photo album of the trip. Until next year, BlogHer, until next year. . .

If you attended, what what your fav moment?

Polish Swap

What’s better than receiving mail from a friend? Nail polish that is! I never knew I could get so excited for a pink polka dot box to arrive at my doorstep. Today, I am linking up with perfectly imperfect & I wore yoga pants to work for the polish swap!

Nail Polish Swap
My nail polish partner, Jessica, of stilettos & a fishing pole is one of the cutest bloggers I “know”. On top of picking out a fabulous duo of Essie polish she can throw a mean party, check out her blog for her recent gender reveal party, it makes me kinda want another baby. I said kinda. Calm down uterus, it was just a joke.
Back to the polish. Last week I received my package and I was so giddy. I had my nieces staying with me so they along with Payton were equally excited to see what had arrived.  Immediately upon opening the box, which had exploded with pink shredded paper, I found a cute cosmetic bag, pedicure accessories, a silver nail polish pen (so cool!) and two bottles of Essie polish. The shades are perfect and I always love Essie names, splash of grenadine and cute as a button. The girls couldn’t wait another five minutes for me to give mani’s and pedi’s. My oldest niece, Makayla, should seriously be a hand model. She has gorgeous nail beds. The girls chose to have the trendy ring finger painted opposite and I opted to paint hearts on the bigger girls and my wee one with nails like her momma got polka dots. This was so much fun and they are still asking me to paint their nails. Thank you Jessica for choosing awesome colors, now I need to paint mine! 😉

what’s your fav nail polish color right now?
