melissa & doug suspend game {review}

Melissa and Doug is one of my favorite brands for children’s toys. They encourage imaginative play and the quality is top notch. Melissa and Doug has released, Suspend, a new family friendly game that requires balance and a steady hand, it’s a great addition to your family game night.
Suspend comes with twenty-four rubber ended wire rods that requires balancing them on the table top piece. It might look relatively easy, but like most stacking games it’s harder than it looks! This game makes for a fun evening with the kids or even for mom and dad to play once the kids go to bed. The game is recommended for ages eight and up but Payton easily understood the concept and stood on a chair to play.
Melissa and Doug offers an array of toys starting at birth and goes well above age eight. They have added an outlet to their website that offers 40% off their classic toys. Begin your holiday shopping now, you will not disappoint a loved one by gifting Melissa and Doug.

Win a Suspend Game!

Melissa and Doug has so graciously offered one My PB+J reader a Suspend game in the first birthday giveaway bash package!

This giveaway will begin on October 15th and will run through the 21st. Make sure to come back during those dates for your chance to win!

it’s a weekly thang! {weigh-in wednesday}

I cannot believe it is already Wednesday. Last week flew on by. I have been keeping myself focused on the kids,  the house and attending my goal in classes at The Dailey Method. If you remember me saying last week my goal was to attend five classes and I did just that! Saturday’s class, my fifth day, was really hard but like any workout you feel great afterwards. Sunday was a great day to rest especially since it was Jim’s birthday. We were able to take a two-mile stroll along the beach at Del Mar and enjoyed one another’s company. It was perfect! Monday I felt the itch to get back into the studio but took my two days off and instead cleaned the house like crazy. Organizing the kids clothes and getting donation boxes ready. This week marks my last week on my initial 30-Day challenge and Sunday begins the official Fall 30-Day challenge. I am glad I had the first thirty days to get back into it, to get my barrings wet so to speak. I am loving the transformation back to the old me, a more mature healthy me.

When I started my personal 30-Day challenge at the first of the month I weighed 146, I had gone up a pound and then lost it. Over the past three weeks I have lost three pounds. My goal for today was to weigh 143 and you know what?! I weighed in at 141.6! People, I have 2.6 pounds to my (Brayden’s birthday) goal. When I got preggo with Payton I weighed somewhere around 137-139 so this was my goal. It is really exciting getting so close to this number.  Last week I hit another huge milestone, my treasured Hudson denim jeans that I wore practically everyday finally slipped on with ease. Before I started The Dailey Method in May (remember, I took six weeks of classes) I couldn’t slip the jeans on over my knees. Double high five to me!

I do not have a weekly photo today but I will have it taken tonight so I can update on Saturday at the end of this challenge before I begin the new challenge.

Again, if you live in the area and would love to try out The Dailey Method this week is the week for a trial. This Friday and Saturday they are offering FREE classes in honor of their one-year anniversary. If you end up loving it, you can start the Fall 30-Day challenge on Sunday with a special 70-minute class.

I have to give another shout out today. I want to tell my Mother how proud I am of her weight loss. She was diagnosed with diabetes a few months back and since then has gotten down to healthy weight. We are actually really close in weight, she keeps joking she is catching up to me and I hope she is! I am proud of you and your new lifestyle!

Make it a great week people, only you can change yourself.

september sponsor spotlight {too cute invites}

First up for my September sponsor spotlights is, Adriana, of Too Cute Invites. Her shop is absolutely adorable and seeing her Halloween invites makes me want to throw a spooky get together. Everyone meet Adriana! Here’s her story:

Too Cute Invites was started after I threw my sons first birthday! I was determined to do everything but cook and bake for the party so I started with the invites! His birthday was Yo Gabba Gabba themed and I couldnt find cute invitations for the life of me, it was all generic and I didnt want those so I made my own.
All my freinds and family were amazed at the work that went into the party and told me I should do this for a business so I did and I adore it! I love knowing I made a childs day when they are having their birthday party made just a little bit more special then it is already by having it done JUST for them.
Handmade is made by the hand but mostly by heart that is why I support artists like me and buy graphics from them to use and I thank them dearly for there hard work! I also love doing custom work, I love the challenge and I love to please people with the designs we both came up with.
I have always been a worker and never thought I would be a stay-at-home mom. I used to laugh at these women but now that I am a mother I wish I could be a stay-at-home mom. With the price of living comfortable these days doesn’t allow me to, however, I am determined to make Too Cute Invites thrive. It’s a dream of mine I won’t let go, I love being able to work at home with my family! I need to make it happen.
I also believe in giving back when you are blessed enough to. Since God has blessed me with this new venture I am starting to give to different Charities each month. September is, City Harvest, a local Charity that helps feed hungry New Yorkers especially kids so 10% of each sale goes to them this month.

Thank you for taking the time to get to know me! Take a look around my shop and please contact me through any of the following links to place a one-of-a-kind order!

I hope you all will remember Too Cute Invites when planning a party or shower! Now, be a doll and go follow her on Facebook! Make sure to give her some love!

down on the farm – my wonderful walls {product review}

When I first looked at our home before it was ours I knew right away that the 470 square foot sun room would be our playroom. I got giddy thinking of toys having their designated space, kids quietly playing and of the huge blank canvas. I really didn’t know what I wanted to do in terms of a theme but I knew that it had to be gender neutral and something that could last well into their adolescence.

Over the years I have purchased wall decals from several companies. They all offer similar qualities except many do not hold up to their online descriptions or quality. When I was introduced to My Wonderful Walls from my friend Danielle’s blog, I knew right away that this company was a step ahead of it’s competitor’s.

While perusing the vast collection of repositional fabric wall sticker kits, full-room stencil kits and color-adjustable canvas art I decided that the fabric wall sticker kit would be best for our room. Next, I had to narrow down a design, I was tossing between the farm collection and the forest friends. The winning factor was having a personalized barn in our playroom.

Once we received our kit we got to prepping our room. First, we removed any debris from our walls, being that this is a sun room we took an extra measure to make sure our paint would cure correctly. If you won’t be needing a fresh coat of paint like us, you’ll just want to make sure that the walls are clean. Get your painting on, if you do it at 2 am like us, that’s entirely up to you!

Since we had a farm theme we had to have some rolling hills and a gorgeous blue sky. We taped off all the necessary areas and then I drew a rolling line with chalk. I took a small amount of paint into a cup and outlined our hill with everglade glen green. Once our hill was filled in, we got to working on the spring waterfall blue sky with the same process.

Two quarts of paint later and by 4 am we had completed the painting process. We took a quick nap and woke-up to a gorgeously painted room. We had planned on waiting to place the decals up but the very excited two-year-old wanted to get started on the decorating fun. My Wonderful Walls does recommend waiting for the paint to cure for over a week but we have been experiencing really high temps so by the time the sun rose it was already in the 90’s and there weren’t any paint fumes lingering so we went ahead and got to decorating.

She couldn’t even wait to get her hair brushed before starting in on the fun!

To view the entire playroom makeover visit my Facebook Album.

The decals are way easier than other decals on the market and I say that from experience. Not only are the colors and textures amazing they are so easy to get from paper to wall. Even if there’s a mistake like a stem folding over, or a toddler mishap, the decal easily removes from the wall and will adhere again. Another plus is that the decals adhered with ease to our highly textured walls. Again, other companies haven’t even adhered to my interior flat textured walls and our My Wonderful Walls decals stuck beautifully to our once exterior bumpy textured walls. Win!

We let Payton tell us where she would like her animals to go on her farm. Of course, the controller in me didn’t give in 100% but it made the design process of their room special and memorable. When anyone comes over she always tells them about her animals and what she helped place on the wall. When it was all said and done we had a completed room in under five hours! Check out this video to see how easy the decals go up!
